Implementation Process


Dynamics 365/CRM

  • Outline a stepped and predictable timeline for the project life cycle
  • Understand business needs and goals to plan for the configuration and development steps
  • Document processes, rules, business units, user security and legacy data needs
  • Review development plan for approval and commitment to development phase
  • Develop and Configure Dynamics 365 to support business goals
  • Conduct user acceptance testing with sample and limited legacy data
  • System modifications period based on testing feedback
  • Legacy data is migrated to developed CRM system
  • Train user community on final development release
  • Roll out Dynamics CRM system throughout the business units

ClickDimensions

  • Create CRM backup Solution files
    • Prior to importing the ClickDimensions solution, export the Account, Contact, Lead and Marketing List entities in an un-managed solution.  If no changes have been made to these entities you can skip this process step.
    • After importing the ClickDimensions solution, import the saved CRM solution files you created with the Account, Contact, Lead and Marketing List entities. When the import process is completed, publish the customization's.
  • Setup CNAME for email links and web content
    • CNAME brands the links of company name, rather than for the link to read as “elink.clickdimensions.com”.
  • SPF records for ClickDimensions
    • SPF (Sender Policy Framework) is the standard framework mail services use to verify the validity source of an email
  • Import unsubscribes and suppression lists
    • Creating unsubscribe records for your preexisting suppression lists members is an effective practice for ensuring that these recipients do not erroneously receive your emails
  • Publish metadata
    • Publishing your CRM metadata will make custom fields available for use in creating Email Templates or when mapping Form Fields for use in a ClickDimensions Form
  • Assign Security Roles to Users
    •  ClickDimensions Core - This role should be assigned to all CRM users (even if not using ClickDimensions). It contains the minimum set of privileges that are required by the ClickDimensions plugins and will prevent failures in creating leads, contacts and opportunities
    • ClickDimensions User - This security role should be assigned to users (non-administrators) who view data generated by ClickDimensions. Most of the privileges are set to the Read level so the users can view the tracking data. This role also allows the user the ability to send emails.
    • ClickDimensions Service - This role should be assigned to the ClickDimensions service user (if you do not wish to use the CRM System Administrator role for the ClickDimensions service account).
    • ClickDimensions Lock Email Blocks - Allows users to lock email blocks in the Drag & Drop email template designer so that users without this role cannot edit them.
  • Automatic updates for ClickDimensions
    • For Microsoft CRM Online customers, the ClickDimensions solution can be automatically updated when a new solution is released or on-demand.
  • Tracking Scripts
    • Adding your Tracking Script to your website will enable ClickDimensions Web Tracking so you can see real-time information on who’s visiting your site.
